Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search engine optimizations (SEO) is a term used to describe the process and actions you take to get page(s) of your website to rank in the first or second page of Google for search terms that you feel are most important to your organization.

  • Are you confused by the mountains of conflicting information on SEO?
  • Fed up with being bombarded by “SEO Experts” that deliver empty promises?
  • Do you want to work with a reputable company that can show you real results?

We have worked with many SEO clients since 2001; some of them are still with us today. One thing that all of our long term clients have in common is that they all had to adapt to survive in the top rankings of the search engines. SEO is not black and white, and it never stays the same.

Onsite search engine optimization (Onsite SEO)

Of the two parts of SEO, the first and most important part you need to make potent are the things that you control. There are things like the content of your website, title and description tags, website speed, functionality and layout, bounce rate, and so on…

We break down websites into several key areas and start by identifying what keyword(s), page(s) and offering(s) are most important. If your website is new we try to figure out how challenging it will be to rank you for your search terms. If your website has been around for a while, we try to figure out where you currently “place”. This service is one part of our web audit.

Once we have a strong grasp of your strengths and weaknesses we are ready to tackle the task of getting you ranked. The first part of this ranking process can involve as little as a few hours of updates to your website to a few weeks of overhauls and planning to ensure that you retain your current rankings and will not lose any ranking potency as we proceed with your SEO project.

Offsite search engine optimization (Offsite SEO)

The second part of SEO involves more things that you cannot, or do not usually control. More specifically, offsite SEO looks at links – where you are getting links from, the quality and context of links as well as anchor text, title attributes and canonicalization of source page(s).

As if this process wasn’t challenging enough we also explore who you top competitors are and where their links come from, too. We also consider their titles and descriptions, context of their page(s) and various other factors. This service is also a cross-section of the web audit service we provide.

Lastly we create a plan on how to proceed and achieve top spots in the search engines. At this point we usually have a pretty decent understanding of what it is going to take to rank on page one, and possibly dislodge another competitor from the top spots.

SEO is a very complex task and no matter what you may have heard or believe the only way to achieve and retain top rankings is through ethical and well thought out planning and action. Interested in how we do this? Contact us for more information.
