We know website hosting isn’t always top of mind – and that’s okay. Our job is to make sure your site runs smoothly, and that’s exactly what we’ve been doing behind the scenes. Below you’ll find answers to common questions about our hosting system upgrade and your new plan options.
Why am I receiving this message now?
We’re transitioning all client websites into a faster, more secure, and more transparent hosting environment. As part of this move, we reviewed our hosting records and found that your website has been receiving full managed hosting without billing – in some cases for many years. This was never intentional, and we’re correcting the oversight as part of this infrastructure upgrade.
Will I be charged for past hosting?
No… you will not be billed for any past hosting services. Despite having delivered fully managed hosting (including regular software updates, security patches, spam filtering, backups, plugin licensing, and SSL certificates), we’re absorbing all historical costs.
We’ve maintained your site in line with our Performance Hosting standards, and we’re continuing that same level of service in our new, upgraded hosting system – at no retroactive cost to you.
Which plan am I being moved into, and why?
You’re being placed into our Performance Hosting Plan ($50/month), which reflects the level of service you’ve already been receiving. This is our standard rate – not a price increase, just a transition to formal billing for the services you’ve long been using.
The upgraded system will now also include:
- Monthly reports detailing traffic, updates, and site health
- Speed enhancements via advanced caching technologies
- Sophisticated security and threat detection tools
- Access to enhanced Google Analytics (upon request)
- And access to new premium features launching this fall
What is included in the Performance Hosting Plan?
- Fast, secure managed hosting
- SSL certificate management
- Daily backups and uptime monitoring
- Spam filtering and contact form protection
- Plugin/theme licensing support
- Website software updates
- DNS and domain management (if applicable)
- Monthly performance and analytics reporting
- Enhanced Google Analytics integration (optional)
- Priority technical support
Is there a cheaper option available?
Yes. If you don’t need the added features and support, our Basic Hosting Plan ($25/month) includes fast and secure hosting only.
This plan does not include:
- Reporting or analytics
- Spam filtering or deliverability protection
- Plugin/theme licensing
- Website updates or issue monitoring
- Technical support beyond basic hosting uptime
How do I switch to the Basic Plan?
Just let us know by replying to the email or contacting us before May 31, 2025. We’ll move your site into our basic hosting environment and adjust billing accordingly.
Can I move my website to another provider?
Yes, you’re welcome to move your website to any hosting provider of your choice.
If you plan to handle the migration yourself or work with your new host directly, we’ll provide the necessary files and credentials upon request. Please note that your new provider will need to coordinate access, and you’ll be responsible for initiating the setup on their platform.
If you’d prefer for Genex to handle the migration, we’re happy to assist. We offer this service at $165/hour, and most standard website transfers are completed within one hour. This ensures a smooth, secure transition without data loss or downtime.
What hosting platforms do you recommend?
There are thousands of hosting companies out there, and while many offer similar technical capabilities, most operate on email-only support models and lack the hands-on service we provide.
If you choose to move your site, we recommend selecting a managed WordPress host that matches the technical standards of your current setup. Here are a few that offer solid performance and infrastructure:

What if Genex manages my domain?
If we manage your domain(s), they’ll be included in your first invoice at $50/year per domain, which covers renewals, DNS record updates, and ongoing domain support.
Do I need to do anything right now?
Yes – we need to know how you’d like to proceed:
- If you’re staying on the Performance Plan, no action is needed.
- If you prefer the Basic Plan or want to migrate, let us know by May 31 so we can prepare your site for the correct hosting environment.
A member of our accounting team will be in touch soon to help set up your preferred billing method. You’ll be able to choose monthly billing or annual prepayment if that’s more convenient.
